Civic spaces are an extension of our communities. They can enrich the lives of their users and contribute to healthier environments socially, culturally and environmentally. We’ve been involved in some truly exceptional community spaces and take great pride in our work.
Halifax Waterfront, Visitors Information Centre Project: The Waterfront Development Corp asked Outside! to address an aging ramp at the Visitors Centre. We developed a comprehensive plan to invigorate an unused area with a mackerel run seating arrangement in front of a virtual aquarium on one side of the building as well as a humpback whale sculpture that kicks off a wave seating arrangement around the rest of the building.
The Canal Greenway: We are collaborating with the Shubenacadie Canal Commission, the municipality, architects, and engineers to replicate historical elements of the old canal as the focal point of this new municipal park.
Halifax Waterfront Catch-A-Break! Hammock Park: We created a fun and colourful resting place with inviting hammocks, suspended between posts that look like east coast fishing buoys bobbing along the boardwalk.
