We love incorporating living architecture into any project we can. Not only can it help reduce energy consumption, lower urban air temperatures, absorb and re-cycle rain water, and create ecosystems in urban environments, but we believe green spaces can also help increase physical and mental well-being.
Living walls: A living wall is a piece of art. Each installation involves extensive research to get the right plants, structure and growing medium to ensure the wall thrives. In 2010, together with staff and students from NS Community College Horticulture program, we created the first pernament, cold-climate, exterior living wall in eastern Canada. A six year retrospective video is available here.
Green roofs: Old and new buildings present unique opportunities for living roofs. We assess each project before creating strategies, making sure to consider the right mix of native and ornamental plants.
Restoration: We also offer services to restore and renew existing green roofs and living walls.
